CBT

About CBT and therapeutic approaches

What is CBT?

CBT is a structured, goal-focused talking therapy that teaches you practical ways to help you identify thoughts and behaviours that are contributing to the way you feel.

  • Short-term therapy: Often 10–20 sessions.

The Core Principles of CBT

CBT is recommended by the NHS and is recognised as a first-line evidence based treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions

The Connection

CBT is built on the idea that thoughts, emotions and physical reactions influence each other, and that our thoughts and beliefs trap us in a negative cycle.

Fairweather Therapy

Present Focussed

CBT is focused on here and now problems and practical solutions. Although a thorough assessment which includes your early life experiences will help us formulate your individual treatment plan.
